How do I mod TF2 for animation,hud,and effects?

I try'd all the install guides on youtube but none work so now i just have a bunch of mods sitting in my tf2 workshop folder

Iirc, you need to boot up a personal server to allow custom bids and animations nowadays. I could be wrong.

For custom animation, I think you just need set sv_pure 0 and create your server to see what you did, for the hud you can edit .res files and can see the result by typing hud_reloadsheme or something like this.

What do you mean by custom effects ?

i need to know how to install them properly to use like a hud changer or a custom barrel flash and last i checked you can use them in official valve servers

to mod the hud you need to download notepad++, the stock hud folder[github.com], set the game on windowed and mess with the res files then use "hud_reloadscheme" command each time you make a modification

this guide[doodlesstuff.com] is pretty outdated but it can help
