Why are australium weapons prices rising?
It's not like there are finite amount of them, they are still dropping and people are still farming them. We know there are more and more of them. TF2 playerbase remains stable. And inflation doesn't have that much of an impact. So why all this huge rise in recent years?

Let's give some examples based on backpack.tf values:

Australium Scattergun:
Aug 2018 - $45
Aug 2019 - $54
Jun 2020 - $59
Nov 2020 - $74
Today - $74

Australium Rocket Launcher:
Aug 2018 - $62
April 2019 - $66
Oct 2020 - $87
Today - $93

Australium Medi Gun:
Sep 2018 - $62
Jan 2019 - $78
Feb 2020 - $104
Nov 2020 - $125
Today - $118

Metal inflation is nothing new and it's because of how easy it is to farm it with multiple accounts for free. But in this topic we're talking about USD values.

Because economy is getting worse and worse... Which is why prices getting higher..

Lol easy, irl price flation. Usd, gbp. Every fiat currency inflating as always. Something like ~4% a year. Things like this eventually catch up, this is what happens when the banks keep printing money

People are willing to pay more for them, so the price increases
My Strange Headtaker Axe jumped to 200 keys recently... Wouldn't have noticed right away if it were for a guy trying to get it for like 130 keys right before the change lol...

I don't understand either. Every server I see someone using them. They are very common. There are 200+ golden pans in the wold and it worth 2800keys. There are more than 3000 australiums of each kind in the world. Australiums are not rare anymore. I believe the reason is the offer and demand. I have two australiums that I only bought to profit. I really don't like them anymore. Common things get boring.

Because people like to value worthless pixels.
Shhh!... May 31, 2021 @ 10:31am
in order to make the eventual collapse of the economy arrive even quicker

Supply and demand, people want australiums, but do you think they wanna gamble on it?
No.
The people who grind mann up day in and day out for australiums control the prices.

To counteract the anomaly, the Golden pan shall decrease in value to one scrap.

Someone recently mentioned Zealium weapons (New Zealand's special metal). I don't know if that was strictly in the workshop or if its going to officially make it in game. But since prices are going wacky I suspect this may be the case.
