TL:DR; don't play medic.
He's really not that hard.
arguably quite chill and enjoyable to play even with terrible teammates
self-identified medic mains are whiny and bad at the class
non-medic players make for significantly better medics because they've had to actually improve their movement and positioning instead of just blaming teammates whenever they die
if you're new to playing competetive tf2, try https://tf2center.com/ , it is a easy to use lobby system where you get matched with other competetive tf2 players, most lobbies tend to focus on 6's and highlander, but 4's, ultimate duo, and prolander do occasionally pop up here and there.
if you get bored out of it, try registering for tournaments, ugc and etf2l are the most popular leagues at the moment
ANY class is easy to pick and play thats great actually, but being GOOD at these classes is another thing entirely and trash im clearly talking about my own experiences how is getting medikits stolens something not to blame to others? Did I even mention about STOMPING the game not allowing a single capture? Because again it didnt matter then and it wont matter now. Trash.
Just play another class.
regardless, nobody congratulates you for hitting a meaty corssbow because generally an easy class and you need to absolutely clutch up and carry for people to recognize your input. hitting good crossbows is to be expected and that's like me cheering whenever a sniper gets a headshot.
since you're not actively fighting it's hard for the rest of the team to gauge your performance unless they're stalking the leadersboard. the same can be said for classes like spy so just cope with it and keep carrying. your satisfaction shouldnt come from other people, you should seek validation from yourself
it's easy to sit behind everyone and tell them what to do for you. it's got the same spirit of watching a soccer match and getting pissy when a player makes a bad pass.
nobody has their focus on protecting their medic 24/7 unless they're playing competitive. as a pub medic your job is to speak up and make callouts that the rest of the team wouldn't have otherwise paid attention to. since... they're too busy engaged in fighting? you're your teams eyes and ears so act like it
use your crossbow. you're playing a fast-paced fps where the match can drastically change in seconds. you shouldn't take your time and people shouldn't be patient when the rest of the team needs them in a fight.
tell your team to fall back and crossbow them or let them grab your health kits if you don't need it. them sitting still waiting for you isn't efficient and i absolutely hate it when self-proclaimed casual medic mains do that.
use your mic. it works wonders in casual. voice commands are useless anyways
if you want good teammates play competitive. otherwise equip the pan and crossbow and fend for yourself. you cant expect pubbers to do all the heavy lifting for you. a general rule of thumb is to always expect the least out of your teammates. right now this thread reeks of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-y medic superiority complex where people are supposed to cherish medics and kiss their feet because it's a thankless job and they're the unsung heros of the match.
Engineer and Sniper deny a lot of land and need to be killed
Spy is an easy kill when found, and people's stranges are hungry
Heavy Demo Soldier and Medic all are strong frontline targets, although I will admit either Med or Heavy is targeted first but you're definitely not special.
Pyro is stupid and people kill him because he is stupid
Usually it's only Scout that doesn't get harassed, probably because he's too fast to be harassed by any class other than himself.
Medic isn't special. There's some basic sense needed to learn how to give heals to the right people and when to pop certain ubers but most will learn it in a few games.
That’s what I did as a past Medic main, and it made Casual much more fun to play.
Being in a party with good players is much better than be thrown into a random game where you could be stuck with more noobies than competent people.
Another option is to play on Uncletopia. Lots of experienced players can be found on those servers.
It’s usually where I go if I’m alone, and especially when I want to play Medic.
