Most logos don't require modernising and many that do it often look terrible afterwards.

Honestly I see no reason to change the logo or anything like that. The current logo is a classic and updating it is anything but a priority right now.

Valve actually decided 7 years ago to change the logo. it is in process.

Most redesigns in general are usually unnecessary and terrible because they're mostly done just to give graphic designers or whoever is doing the redesign busy work to pretend that they're doing something, so it'd be fitting if Valve suddenly changed the TF2 logo.
