Why tf2 is still alive?

Are young kids the only ones that keep this game profitable? Will valve someday move on from tf2 and turn off the servers? Will you finally let go and move on?

TF2 is still alive because there is nothing else like TF2. It has the unique gameplay, team synergy, humor, character development and writing quality (a real stand-out), animations, casual focus - a rare thing for a game today - with optional competitive tweaks so everyone is happy, community, customization, depth.

I was someone that bought TF2 in 2008 then played until around 2013 and stopped for several years. I then bought Overwatch when it came out because it was clearly inspired by TF2 besides being all shiny and new, but I lost interest completely sometime before Doomfist came out because it just felt corporate. It has all the makings of a playable Pixar film but I felt no genuine passion behind the characters or passion for any of those shorts they made for each of the character for lore purposes - they have hamfisted writing that only exists to serve the best dreamworks face the character can wear in that moment. It made me laugh whenever the "lore" or storymaster or whatever at Blizzard (who has left I believe btw) came on screen to explain crap he clearly was unable to execute in his own content for the game.

(also honorable mention to a 6v6 structure making the game foster a toxic community, possibly worse with OW2's 5v5)

tf2 is well made and has that good old valve charm. its made for new players who have never played a first person shooter and those who are skilled in it. its comedy and ability to work on most computers no mater the specs as well as a loving dev team has given it one of the biggest impacts in gaming history

Well... community is a meme basically. They find joy in outsmarting a bot after getting killed by it 10 times and meme over buying keys like its super fun to open worthless items or something so that keeps valve going. They can affort to not update their game for 3 years because of these players which must be fun.

I reinstalled the other day just to uninstall after 4 matches. I don't think I want my screen being spammed by the kicking and always checking that Im kicking the right bot, also getting earraped by the drum solo and getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the aimbotters. I don't know who tolerates this ♥♥♥♥... also community servers are either ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ advertisements or 100 ping modded garbage. If you enjoy delfy's server, find a doctor.

Just because you don't play/like the game anymore doesn't mean it's dead. There's tons of players still lol. Yes, this game may be old but it's gameplay is so much fun that people are willing to keep playing the game even when there's an entire invasion of cheating bots. I doubt any other game has managed to do that.
