Have you ever wanted to try out Highlander or 6s in a relaxing care free environment? Just try out the format with no stakes? Luckily such a thing exists pick up games or PUGS are great place to play Tf2, socialize and have a laugh with some team mates.

There are many places to play PUGs from the super straight forward to the super obscure.

RGL is usually my favorite PUGs they are super newcomer friendly, they are moderated by PUG runners, the community is super helpful and they host semi regularly. They usually host Prolander at a more low-stakes environment but also run Highlander and 6s. It is super moderated and pugs usually are well balanced.

TF2Center:

TF2Center is perhaps the most well known site for playing Pickup games or Lobbies as they are known in TF2Center. Tf2Center is another care free relaxed way to try the Comp rule-set. The main advantage is the frequency of games, while RGL only hosts games at specific times when PUG runners decide to run TF2Center hosts games all day assuming there are players hosting. While TF2Center is frequent, it does have downsides, the fact it runs all day means lobbies can take a while to fill, in most PUGs like RGL once the PUG is announced there is enough players to start, TF2Center can take a while. The lack of moderation can be annoying. I recommend you join a mumble not required lobby if you are trying out TF2Center. You really role the dice when it comes to TF2C, it is however frequent and generally welcoming.

i used to join pugs in tf2cc (tf2 coaching server) and play on their tournamwnts. they taught me a lot about demo in 6s

Dude that's crazy a guy I use to play with Kibble Bites owns that server and I remember I joined it to try to troll with him.

TF2 Center doesn't count as care free or should i say NON TOXIC environment, many people can agree with that...
