Why is the Strange Gunslinger so expensive

Both it and the Aussie Wrench have around 4k-5k~ in existence yet the former is 40 keys while the latter is 100+ keys

I’d argue the demand on the aussie wrench is higher

Everyone was too busy complaining about machina and kritz being expensive and they forgot about the poor ol slinger, now its worth more than 100 keys and i feel richer than ever.

I thought it was bad paying about $80 for a strange gunslinger a year and a half ago but recently noticed that you can't get one for less than $250 now. What happened during that time? I have no idea.

Pretty stupid to have them be as rare as they are in the first place.

Ref iscontinuing to lose value and people no longer want ref, they want keys making everything priced in keys more expensive, it's a simple hyperinflation scenario.

That may be true, but it doesn't quite explain why the strange Gunslinger has gone up in price so drastically compared to something like the Kritzkrieg. It's true that the kritz did come out in another crate later and the Gunslinger didn't, but even taking that into account, the former hasn't changed in price much over the last few years while the latter has more than tripled.

It was unboxed from the original salvage crate. Which was a rare drop. The crate also doesn’t drop anymore, while aussie wrenches do. You can also get alternative strange wrenched. Where as the strange gunslinger has none so demand is higher for it.

Except the value of a key is the same no matter what. Keys only cost more in refined because refined is dropping in value.

Actually I'd counter and say the Australium Wrench has far LESS demand than the Strange Gunslinger. Pretty much any player dedicated enough to the game and rich enough to afford one also knows its tied with the Southern Hospitality for worst wrench. Most people that own one don't actually play Engineer all that much and are just rich people trying to flex every class.

As for why the S. Gunslinger specifically is going nuts, I have no clue. I checked BP.tf and it SHOT up nearly sixty keys last month, from 65 - 71 to 101 - 115, and then boosted again six days ago to 115 - 123.

Its a good thing I'm happy with my Collectors Gunslinger or I'd be kicking myself right now.

Ik it s kinda late for a reply but I just got a strange pro ks kit fabricator for it and I was so excited seeing that the strange pro ks variant was selling for upwards of 350 usd, than I started looking for the pieces I needed to complete it and seen that the strange variant is 300 usd, now I wish I didn't even got it

A Strange Giger Counter isn't even listed on the SCM last I checked. A lot of the rare Engineer stranges just keeping going up.
