scorch shot no skill

infuriating to get killed by a stupid pyro with phloger, axtinguisher and scorch shot then he laughs and types in chat "ez" "get gud", why people think they are good using all of these weapons especially scorch shot in which they barely have to aim and do minimum effort for easy crits-mini crits, why havent they done any effort previous to jungle inferno to nerf this broken piece of ♥♥♥♥

The phlog is bigger of a problem

phlog doesn't invalidate the other options in the primary slot, requires playing around the airblast penalty and charge mechanic, and demands that you have some way to close the gap which often comes at the cost of making yourself highly exposed

scorch shot is the dominant pyro secondary and invalidates the other flareguns and frequently the shotguns too, requires little to no charge in primary weapon usage, can be spammed with near zero input for substantial damage and disruption at no cost, is fully usable at ranges and positions where the pyro faces little to no danger, and cannot be directly contested by weapons other than a sniper rifle

sniper is one of the hardest counters to scorch shot spam and has an item that outright negates it
every other class suffers far more from the disruption and health drain of sc spam than a sniper does
improving at the game does not change the mechanical functions of weapons
if a weapon is obnoxious because of the tedium involved in playing around it, improving your skills does not magically make those elements go away

Scorch shot is annoying as hell but the phlog is usually easy to deal with. Just backpedal and focus the ♥♥♥♥. He can't even reflect your projectiles.

Actually, scorch shot is an ingeniously well designed weapon that takes incredible skill to master. I will admit the barrier for entry is low, but the difference between someone who is bad with scorch shot and someone who is good with it is similar to a bad sniper and an amazing sniper.

Imo, scorch shot is one of the most misunderstood weapons in the game.

Afterburn at any range (Yes, and I claim ANY range because the extremely fast projectile AND splash it has makes it possible) is absolutely overpowered and shouldn't be like that
