High CPU temps while playing TF2
Hello,
I just noticed that I have high temps on my i7 8750H while playing TF2, when Im not like doing anything my temps are around 60-70°C but when I start the game I have sometime around 90-95°C based how many people are on the server. I know that the game is CPU based, I just want to know if this is normal. I repasted and cleaned my laptop 5 days ago, and I have cooling, also im playing on my external monitor.
thx

Bots dont affect that anymore. I think its just your pc. Its playing a game which requires more heat and crap

laptop cooling is rough, gaming laptops are usually designed with the expectation of hitting stupid temps
do you live somewhere with high ambient?
does this happen with other games?

you could try an fps cap to maybe take a smidge of the load off, maybe mess with core affinity to see if spreading the load around helps at all
if you're into tinkering and depending on what your system allows you access to you could try undervolting your cpu or gpu

when i tried to play shadow of the tomb raider or playing dark deception, i had around 77-85°C, sometimes i got around 90°C but not for like a second. My GPU temps are like good, i have around 70°C, i tried to undervolt my CPU in XTU, but i have it like "grayed it out", simply i cant change it.

...when you're not doing anything you average at 60-70°C? Even for a laptop that's a bit high. My laptop spec is exactly the same as yours down to a T and even when i'm playing things like NFS Heat or BL3 it never went above 85 and usually hovers around 78-80.
Check your task manager and look for any application that's hogging your cpu.

Worst case scenario you might want to do a clean reset. Just to make sure there's no unwanted malware in your laptop.

How Often Should You Replace Thermal Paste? In most cases, you shouldn't need to reapply more than once every few years, though you should replace your paste if you remove your cooler for any reason. You may also want to consider reapplying thermal paste if you find your CPU temperatures are climbing.
