Custom sound glitches in Casual but not in Community Servers?
I've been playing around with custom sounds for tf2 and they've been going great so far. Sounds related to the announcer are mostly fine but some sounds seem to behave irregularly in Casual Matchmaking.

For example, I doubled the length of the Huntsman's bow draw sound effect so I could easily time when to make a perfectly charged shot without looking at the meter or counting down in my head. It works fine in Community Severs but in Casual it'll play in fast forwarded and make a high-pitched glitch sound at the last few milliseconds. (similar to say, a game cartridge being tilted on an N64).

It does this to some other sound effects to, not just the Huntsman. Is this related to the whitelist tf2 uses for casual, or did an update break custom sounds? What is your advice on a fix for this?

I was afraid of something like this, I was hoping that this might've been an update related glitch and that I can have silly sounds for certain guns when wanted. Oh well.

Any tips on setting it up so that I load "default" sounds and "custom" sounds without having to surgically find and remove individual files when needed? Perhaps a console command?

It's actually against the rules to bump old threads, but of course no one gets banned for it

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
