Will my items be marketable after opening a non-marketable crate?

Hi. I played TF2 a long time ago, like 2010-2013 or so. I got an old "Salvaged Mann Co. Supply Crate Series #40" laying in my inventory. It's not marketable or sellable, not sure why. Considering buying a key, opening it and selling the contents on the market for a potential profit. Will this work or will any content I get from opening the non-tradable/marketable case also be non-tradable and marketable?

I mean, the stuff in the #40 salvage crate aren't too good, I would advise against opening it if you're in it for profit.

I don't honestly know; however, I've never trusted anything that is untradable.

I take same approach with the proven metal. (Untradable metal will make untradable items / metal)

This crate contains one of the following items.
Weapons will be Strange quality.
The Holiday Punch
The Huntsman
The Widowmaker

I ran the average of these items on the steam market and the average price is around 3,17€ and a key costs 2,1€ in-game.

Hah! Turns out the reason my crate was not marketable was because I was on a f2p account. As soon as I bought the key my account became premium and now I can sell my stuff so no need to open my crates. I'll just sell tthe crate on the marketplace(right now it's 4.87€) and my newly bought key. Would've been smarter to buy something cheaper than a key to upgrade to a premium account but whatever I'll still end up with more money in my steam wallet than before :D. Thanks for the help anyway

hu i think that crate is worth more than 4.87 euro
