Team Fortress 2
What's the deal with sniper bots?
I'm sort of new to tf2 and it makes me sad that there are so many bots I can't actually learn with real players. Today I couldn't get past spawn in any pub, got so much lag and micspam I had no choice but to log out and just go to a community friendly server. Why do people code these algorithms/aimbots, does it financially benefit them? is it something made by the creators to kill the game? It's annoying :(

Those who code bots either try to sell their cheats (myg0ts), or have no life.
Months ago the situation was way worse, these are but a shadow of the threat they were before.
Before Valve took action the most annoying were the N*****Killers, who flooded and spammed binds on servers, making communication impossible. They disappeared right after.
Right now bots come and go, someone creates them and in matter of weeks they get shut down completely.

this was confirmed a hoax

And the update hasn't helped ether

It lead to the voice & text chat for players (myself included) who are on free accounts being unable to communicate with other players who are on the same team and / or map.

That did help though
without the bots being able to spam horrid things in chat and VC, the bots didn't make people as mad as they used to.

To explain it kind of in a """short """way:

-There's only like 2 devs left working on TF2 because devs at Valve can move to work on any project they want whenever they want, but there are rumours of a big community update even though we haven't had a big update since 2017-2018

-Idiots who create bots started to abuse TF2's lack of devs and security (outdated and almost useless V.A.C) and this basically started a bot invasion, also the source code was leaked some months ago, which I think, was what lead to this big invasion on the first place.

-Since the devs left working on TF2 have to also make the yearly common updates (halloween, christmas, etc) they probably don't have enough time to do everything while also fighting the bots, so to make some sort of temporal fix they muted out all F2P accounts in a way that they can't use either voice chat or text chat so this would stop bots from spamming all over the place. They also gave F2Ps the ability to participate in votekicks (which I think was removed in an update some time ago) and they also """improved""" the report menu, which is still just as practically useless as always.

Anyways, that's all I know and I'm probably wrong in some things, but I guess you get the idea. For the time being, all we can do is wait until either Valve releases some "surprise magic update that fixes all bugs, exploits and V.A.C." (not going to happen, probably, but who knows...) and stay informed about this stuff.

If you see a bot trying to kick a player, please press F2.

If you see a player trying to kick a bot, please press F1.

If nobody is kicking the bot, please press F11 and start the votekick yourself, ask people to press F1.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the game, even with the bots it's still a pretty fun game to play!
I was in a game with multiple aimbots and me and it felt like only one other person were kicking. I thought at the time it was because some people didn't vote. If f2ps can't vote anymore then that's a little problem it took almost ten minutes to kick 3 bots

I just don't understand why people still bother with casual in 2020, community servers exist and would be more diverse than just 32 man 2fort if people just played on them more

Because for me it's usually only one game in ten that has an actual problem with bots

People usually kick bots and if they don't you can just requeue

I like it, it's the reason I play, the thrill, working as a team, learning to aim, the fun moments and achievements. Community servers I've been in are mostly 6 snipers battling each other and the rest dancing or killing friendlies, there isnt really a goal.

bots are a thing because valve lets you play this game in textmode which makes it very easy to set up a lot of bots very cheaply

I just seen 9 bots on Red team all TIER 3 and all same casual level and colour and only 3 real players cannot kick them because they vote no for them self’s and also we have to Waite 2 mins to make the next vote, I was on blue team

I spent all my time reporting them to both Valve and their Steam account all week I’m now not able to report a lot of the bots now because I’ve already reported them to Steam and now I’m starting to try report bots that have already change their Picture and name and they still in game Hacking and valve and steam do nothing

9 bots on Red team all TIER 3 and all same casual level and colour?

TIER 3 and still no bans from valve or steam?

Think about how bad that is when both Steam and Valve allow a team of 9 bots all with the same casual level and colour and they able to get a Tier 3 level and we players are still waiting for these two disingenuous companies to give support to us players we are limited to only being able to vote to kick bots every two minutes

We need these bots auto banned base on how often they are kicked from every game they are in and stop dragging feet on the bot problem and give players support that helps us get rid of these scum.

Valve and steam accounts ban where there is smoke there is fire if these account are being kicked from every game they are in there should be an auto ban list where these accounts are added to

Also I’m happy to keep reporting these bots and accounts if I was allowed to more than just the once?

Think of it as a baptism by fire/lamer/cheater. First, try to kick the cheaters/bots. If the bots are not kicked quickly enough, sometimes the bots/cheaters can take over the server. If that happens, disconnect, queue for the next server, repeat.
