The range displayed in the video is still way too big in my opinion, Spy should not have the right to cheese his way out of a gun fight with a knife, the way I see it he's made to rely on the enemy being oblivious, distracted or isolated (And for that last one, only Sniper and Medic should be punished for that).
This comes from a casual only player but I've seen countless times a single spy just completely destroy any single class within melee range, even demoknights which are literally made to rule the melee arena. I just feel as if his whole character of being sneaky and catching people off guard relying on his cunning and cloak management is being severely downplayed by the fact you can just flick your wrist slightly off to the side and one shot literally any class within melee range.
This is just my opinion tho, playing mostly Engineer and Sniper I genuinely feel as there's no way to get out on top of a melee fight with a spy.
Switching away from the FoS/GRU and having a spy turn the corner
Using the Rescue ranger
Using literally anything other than the stock SMG with the Machina
Crossbow medic running away after your pocket died in a moronic way
Soldier in CQC with banner equipped
Too confusing for literally everyone
Severe reserve ammo for revolver, slower swing speed and holster and deploy speed slower.
