How do I make my server public
What do I have to do to make my server public so people can join in by just looking for it on the community server list?

Sadly, unlike in Garry's Mod, you can't just create a listen server and make it automatically public. You will need to:
- Set a static IP address if it already isn't
- Forward ports from 27000 to 27050, as well as 3748-4380
- Make sure your firewall isn't blocking the game OR the ports

For more about these steps check out portforward.com.

You will also need to know your public ip address which can be found on ipchicken.com

Then, once everything is done, start a map with the map console command, open the console and type in sv_lan 0; sv_pure 0; ip "your public ip" without the quotation marks.

When you're done with that, use the map command again and when your server loads type in heartbeat. Your listen server should be joinable now!

If this doesn't work, try:
- checking if you did EVERY step correctly
- typing sv_lan 0 multiple times because it has a bad habit resetting itself to 1.

If you think this is too complicated just use freegamehosting.eu, but you're mostly limited to stock maps and mods. If you're going to do that, set the Config option to default.
