How do you get the ding sound when you do damage?
I just got TF2 and it makes no sound when I do damage. How do you enable the ding sound?

Go to advanced options and scroll down to "Play a sound whenever you hit an enemy" and customise it to however you want.

The “ding” noise is the sound labelled “default”.

Another thing you could do is find the RGB sliders in the advanced options menu, then set the blue one to zero to get nice yellow damage numbers.
