Auto-disconnect for a fixed time every few minutes
Recently when I was playing Shana, every few seconds there will be an auto-disconnect in 25 seconds. The connection ALWAYS resumes when the countdown is at 20 seconds (i.e. the connection pauses for EXACTLY 5 seconds, which is rather weird). I tried turning off my firewall and the problem was not fixed. What could be intercepting the connection and causing this problem?

[20/5/2017] UPDATE 1: For now, the problem seems to have stopped. It appears to only occur on certain specific servers. Will monitor

It's possible that your internet is experiencing packet loss. Are you using wired/wireless connection?

Well, I currently don't have any solution to this too, since I am also experiencing the same problem.

However, I did changed the router's settings and it lowered the frequency of having a constant loss, so I think you might wanna try to change your router settings.

Since it stops for EXACTLY 5 seconds, could this be a problem with my firewall, PC, router or ISP?

Does it happen with other online game you play? If it only happens in TF2, it might be a problem from the PC/firewall, dunno.

If it apply to all online game, both router & ISP can be the problem. You might want to make sure to contact your ISP to look into the packet loss.

Its happen to me but its happen in UGCgaming.net server.
What you can do is go to the option > multiplayer > Advanced > find disable HTML Mods just check it if its uncheck and uncheck it if its check.

Doing so did not fix my problem. I can still connect to www.google.com DURING the 5 seconds of error. Does this point to a local TF2 issue or server issue?

Doing so did not fix my problem. The thing is, I can still connect to www.google.com DURING the 5 seconds of error. Does this point to a local TF2 issue or server issue?
In that case, it might not be packet loss. If it is a loss, not Google/TF2 could work during the "5 second period", but in your case, it could be a server-related issue.

Does it only happen on Shana or other servers like Valve casual/comp servers?

Yes, this issue does not happen with official Casual/Competitive servers.

If so, then it might be the server itself. I don't have a solution past this point, so best thing you could do is to contact their server owner.
