Wrong forum, but you can use them to craft cards, and you can use the cards to rank up. (Your Steam level)

There are also people buying them for TF2 stuff, you just have to know where to look.

When the game for this background first came out, I remember this item was selling for about $35. It's since greatly dropped, but is still worth the equivalent of about 3 keys.
