Why are the Earbuds so cheap?
So, I havent play this game since 3-4 years... but I remember the buds being really expensive, like, you used to buy Unusual hats with them, now I´ve seen them being sold at 2-3 keys...

So... why are they so cheap, do people not want them anymore?

Just curious.

When demand go down supply goes up, which leads to deflation

they were a currency item that fell out of favor when it became unnecessary to worry about trading items five or whatever it was at a time. Bills hats went the same way.

I suppose a general wave of disinterest. The scout Tossle Cap used to be the sh*t back in 2011 but now... I never see people wearing it anymore. Now it's around 3-4 ref which is a huge drop.
Hats go out of style, new hats have been introduced since then. Earbuds are no different.

And they're so tiny, you barely see them like badges or pocket miscs. Not worth the price.

Engi pocket miscs. On the other hand are really visible, have you seen mr.bubbles or the catastrophic companions?

cheap because of item bots, caused keys to go up instead

backpack.tf stopped using them as currency because people would panic sell their unusuals and then they dropped.

They've been used as a currency. At some point community decided it's a was a bad idea and stuck with keys.

At the time you could only trade like 8 items at a time. So the community needed a high calue currency which doesn't need tons of items to be worth it. Due to buds being a limited promo, they were selected to be this currency and be high valued. However when valve expanded items slots to infinite, buds were not really needed anymore. This meant they got used less and less and their value got lower. Quickly. Eventually bp.tf switched to keys as currency. This further reduced buds value and everyone panic sold, making it worse. Hope this explains it well. Ps another reason is the fact that buds are common as dirt now.
