TF2 Cheating Scene Explained

So probably everyone has encountered cheaters in valve, community, and now even UGC servers. What's up with that? I'm here to explain everything you probably had questions about in TF2 when it comes to cheating.

Q: There are so many cheaters, why is that?

A: Lithium. Free TF2 cheat, each time someone downloads the cheat, the bot that serves the files makes a custom build for that person. Buying VIP for 5$ means every time you download it, you get a totally different file from last time you downloaded it, it literally processes you a new file right then and there, upon request. This makes the VAC security very high as it currently stands. This means if Valve were to identify one of the files as being a cheating file, it wouldn't mean♥♥♥♥♥♥because it would only be that particular file that got detected, not all the rest.

As for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and Nullcore, they both use their own custom injectors, they do cost a little more, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ being 10$ and Nullcore being 10-60$.

There is also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, which is a free Linux cheat. Linux is extremely hard for VAC to work in, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hasn't even been protected against VAC, linux straight up sucks.

Q: Why hasn't Valve done anything?

A: Main VAC developer is gone, it's a literal skeleton crew working on VAC. No matter what valve says about working on VAC, it's probably all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t.

Q: Why are there so many people cheating?

A: It's a free game... That right there is the big reason people cheat, the game isn't dying, in fact it's still doing quite well. I'm not saying it's not going to die, but it's not gonna die from the current cheating problem. Now, as far as it goes for why people cheat, mainly because it's fun. I'm serious, most of the people actually enjoy seeing other people get angry at cheaters, raging, etc. I would say about every 15 minutes, cheaters start lobbies using Discord servers. When 6 people have been found that are going to lobby together, they all join the same lobby, and off they go. As it currently stands, there are probably about 5000 TF2 cheaters in total, probably more than that honestly, as Lithium has currently surpassed 20k downloads.

Q: What can we do as a community to prevent cheaters?

A: Not much other than go to community servers. Going to community servers with admins is literally the only good way to go and get away from cheaters. Even then you're not safe, cheaters can easily "turn down" their cheats and use them "legitimately". Basically they assist in aim and movement instead of taking over and playing for them (such as "ragehacking"). Basically, you never know if that sniper who only misses 3 out of every 25 shots is cheating or not, the aimbot can be slowed down to make it look like natural movement. Triggerbots will fire automatically to make it look legitimate as well.

Q:What does the future of cheating look like for TF2?

A: Like cheating in CS:GO. It would be a VAC wave every few months, but it would still be people generating alts as it's a free game, so there's nothing to deter people from just making a new account and starting again once the cheat was undetected. The problem is more with the way VAC works, it's so easy to make an undetected cheat, that it would only take a week or two at max to become undetected again. However, if valve doen't fix VAC in TF2, then it's basically not going to change much.

Q: What is, "legitimate cheating"?

A: Turning the cheat down so low it doesn't assist you in any other way except for aim and movement, you can become very skilled at using cheats like this by fine tuning the advanced features. You can encounter this type of cheater in almost any game, most of the time you'll never know. People who cheat in esports leagues usually pay to have custom cheats made, ones that can be loaded without a trace and never show themselves. This type of cheat is one of a kind, and can costs hundreds or thousands of dollars.

VAC only bans if they are 100% sure you are cheating. If you code your own hacks using your own methods and you don't copy paste anything you are completely off the radar.

Sometimes using VMP in public cheats works too. The thing is: never use an open-source cheat.

Sorry for you. This is why overwatch in cs:go exists.

Like you said, they get the fun in cheating by making people angry, so ignoring them is going against what they expect.

Its pretty hard to ignore someone who wrecks your entire team as soon as it leaves spawn.

Valve earns millions of $ with Steam every month, but they cant be bothered to implemt a proper anti-cheat system. This shows how little they care about TF2.
