TF2 Item Alert Glitch

So, I've been having this problem recently with TF2 in which if I click on an alert where I receive a new item, I can't get out of the screen. It doesn't allow me to click to go to my loadout or dismiss the alert, and thus I'm stuck on the screen. When I click the alert in the main menu, I'm just stuck there, but can click on the buttons for team chat, finding a match, and quitting, but no UIs pop up. When I click it in a match, it will open, and I have to press escape to get out of it, and to the escape menu. It then does this everytime I hit escape. What do I do?

I’ve had the problem too but it recently stopped. Just press “resume”, to get the item? Idk keep trying. That’s what i did.

Do you think a custom HUD would help in any way?

I use a custom HUD (FlawHUD, really suggest it.) But still had the issue.

Maybe get a hud that lets you press a button to get out of the menu
