New Sapper ideas?
Thinking of a sapper that could convert enemy sentries, but the convert time is roughly the same time as a normal sapper. And when converted, converted sentry takes extra damage. I dunno, just thoughts. Any other ideas?

Sounds cool, would be very very powerful. It'd probably be op to just switch the sentry's target and have it take more damage

Converting Sentries has been debated multiple times and the general consensus is often "Spy shouldn't hijack buildings."

Spy needs tools that aren't sappers. Other espionage or sabotage tools should take precedent.
Sapper that does 2x dmg but get removed in one hit? Idk just want a dmg based sapper

Was just thinking about that. I really do like the concept of converting enemy sentries, but I figured it'd be really OP. I need to think of ♥♥♥♥ to the single pro.

Replace the sapper slot with a device that tracks an specific class, and his surroundings
-turns off with any kind of water source
-If the person being tracked sees you, he will not be tracked anymore and wont be available to track for 25 seconds (doesnt reset after you die)

A sapper that locks the sentry guns down without giving any notice to the engineer, the sentry looks like its operating normally but cannot fire its missiles or guns while locked by the sapper, the engineer has to remove the sapper with a wrench just like a normal sapper to make the sentry function again

It probably wouldn't rotate.
i'm pretty sure you could grief with the hacking mechanic

build a sentry near spawn
a pal as spy on the other team saps it
you team now suddenly has to deal with a lvl 3 at their door unless they watch it 24/7. wow such fun.

in general, suddenly dealing with a level 3 on your zone is garbage gameplay. no thx.

That idea has been debated many times and one of the most common ideas for new sappers.

It is a bad idea because the potential to grief is way too high, to the point where the team won't be able to do anything. Have a few engies build at spawn, get a buddy on the enemy team to use that sapper and now the team has to deal with 5 sentries at their spawn.

I know I certainly would do it, imagine every sever with that.

maybe a sapper that doesn't tell the engineer that his building is being sapped but has a louder sapping noise and takes longer to sap buildings
I always wanted to see a sapper that either took longer or didn't disable the sapped building, but then caused explosion damage with a blast radius
literally just add the Subjugated Saboteur and Timely Demise from the workshop.
