Why won't my animation overhauls work?
So I recently downloaded animation overhauls for all the classes.I did every single step that any source told me to do for them, and I got into a Valve server.Everything went great.Everything worked. But when I quit TF2 and come back, all the animation overhauls stop working and I see the stock animations again.I did this multiple times and still got the same result.Does anyone know why this happens?

Simple enough.
They don't work on valve servers unless you first play in a solo game.
And you have to do that everytime you open the game.

They're not supposed to work on Valve servers. There is an exploit that allows you to make them work on Valve servers, but you're not actually supposed to be using these.

It's because of sv_pure 1.

That's what threw me off, because I heard that they allowed that on sv_pure 1 servers,so I just thought that I did something wrong.

They used to, but when people were abusing them to remove the viewmodels completely from the screen even in Comp mode, they decided against it and disallowed them again.

Add this line to your autoexec.cfg
map_background preload_room; wait 10; disconnect
You should get your animation mods working on Valve servers.

Well, this works.
I tought you had to open itemtest to make them work, but apparently your technique is faster!

Just a quick question.Should I add all of this 'map_background preload_room; wait 10; disconnect'?

Have some common sense before you post a stupid comment next time. What's better? A whole new thread, or a slight necro?

B|O|D agrees, necroing a thread for the sole purpose of getting help related to the thread's topic isn't as bad as you guys think it is.
