Team Fortress 2
Solemn vow vs amputator?
I recently started strayong from the stock ubersaw because you don't get many chances to hit someone and live, and i use the vaccinator so i get ubers in 6-8 seconds anyways.
With that, i wonder which is better: the damage and hp display of the vow or the regen and the taunt of the amputator?

I'd go with Amputator.

Solemn vow.

Gaben bust mod.
It's just Stock but you can see enemy health.

Amputator is just meh.

Amputator, Vow is pretty much a downgrade with the stock bonesaw.

Vow is better for comp, though not the best.

Amp is for casual/pubs

I use the amp so I can try and save myself from burning to death

I would use the amputator, but I use the Vow soley because I find it amusing that I'm beating people to death with something that has 'Do no harm' writen on it.

Amputator, it nullifies the Blutsauger cons.

Vow, most people here doesn't seem to remember that the amp had the scaled healing applied to it.

Plus, passive effects.

The amputator has good passive affects as well.

You don't know the definition of passive effect, in the context of tf2.

Passive effect: Weapon does not need to be drawn to utilise, eg DDS, Vow, drain on the blut, bonus health from the backup

Active effect: Weapon needs to be drawn to utilise, eg Winger, Amputator, Powerjack

Passive effects are nearly always seen as upsides (or downsides) due to always being present whereas active effects are much more situational.

Wait, you only get the extra regen if you have it out? Then I'll go vow.

The Solemn Vow.
The Amputator's upside is just insignificant. It has healing rampup and it's an active effect.

Solemn Vow is always useful, but Vita Saw is honestly the best unless the enemy team consists of potatoes that let Ubersaw hits work.
