Thoughts on the Darwin's Danger Shield?

I heard that the DDS used to be a crutch for bad snipers and got nicknamed Darwin's Donger Shield. Then it got reworked to be an
anti-pyro weapon

What are your thoughts on this weapon?

Literally my least favorite weapon in the entire game. Like really, why should Sniper get to hard counter a class he's already strong against just by equipping it, ESPECIALLY when he already has 2 afterburn countering weapons??? ♥♥♥♥ you, DDS.

You heard wrong it was over-powered.

A crutch is something that helps somone who is crippled move better but would hold back somone who is normal if they used it let alone somone athletic.

The DDS forced enemy snipers to also run it or be at a severe disadvantage, hence why it was overpowered.If it had been a crutch it wouldnt have had this effect.

It was broken as hell before.

It's not as broken as it was, but it still gives Sniper a ridiculous amount of resistance to Pyro. DF literally does not function as intended on DDS Snipers.

That’s kinda all it’s for, flare spam, if the pyro gets close, he can still burn you alive or shotgun blast you, and then again, it’s a long range class fighting a close range class that is weak in long range, and you wear a crocodile shield thingy that makes you do better against the class you should’ve been pretty effective against anyways
Not a big fan of the weapon, I’d prefer something else like the Cozy camper or even an SMG

I really despise being useless against a Sniper when using the DF because he equiped it.

Remember that you have a wonderful thing called Shotgun. You can use it at any time, it's secondary stock and as far as it's not a crime to kill a Sniper with it. Imo.

I'm currently fine with the current iteration of it oddly enough. It's a bit annoying for Pyro's to deal with since it gives sniper the option to melee them fairly well as long as the Pyro lets them get close. But Pyro's can still equip weapons like the shotgun to tear the Sniper apart as well.

The only thing I miss is screwing sniper's aim up with flares and afterburn on maps where sniper can actually be a problem thanks to sight lines.

Being limited to the shotgun as a secondary because I'm useless against a Sniper that took like two seconds to equip the DDS. Really shows how dumb the DDS is.

The reason the darn thing was changed in the first place was because it required other Snipers to equip. Now it requires DF Pyros to equip the shotgun. It's one questionable design to another. One you could argue it's situationaly questionable, but it's still questionable.

  Every time I get close with a Sniper that carries the DDS I just hold M1 down and die in seconds, I do not even need the shotgun in most situations.
  By far you do not have much to do, it's true. But hey, you should just concentrate on being out of sight of the Sniper and you'll be fine. Someone else will take care of him.

You just have to be careful is all around DDS snipers. I've actually melee'd kritzed phlog pyro's to death with the DDS equipped it's that effective lol. Just stay out of their melee range is all you have to do.

There have been several situations where a Sniper has gotten away because they they had the DDS on when they wouldn't have gotten away from me without it. The bulk of those situations being because I was using the DF.

as much as I hate the current version, it does have a much smaller negative impact on the game as a whole
