Cheat Engine & Account Help
So I started TF2 and completely forgot to close cheat-engine. I had it opened up for XCOM Enemy Unkown (Game is soooo hard even on easy, and I'm a wuss) as I only really see the point to cheating for single-player games and the like.

I tried joining a casual match to be met with the message "An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system. You cannot play on secure servers."

I close out of cheat engine asap having and "oh ♥♥♥♥!" moment, and closed the game. Got back on, tried cuing for casual, same message. I then validated files and now I can connect to secure VAC servers and main servers again, but...

==Will I get a vac ban on my account for this dumb mistake?==

Only thing I'm aware of is like, delayed bans, where I could get one a week or so later

It's unlikely you'll get banned unless you attached CE to tf2

Just restart your computer &/or turn off your antivirus and try again

I doubt it, as long as CE wasn't hooked onto the TF2 process.
I doubt you will. Though if it happens again you might get banned.

Nope! It was only attached to xcom

Well I really dont wanna restart my PC (it's sorta slugging these days. Need ram and a better power supply. Slow starts)

But if that'll like, help in any way. I can connect to servers again, but I'll restart just to be safe to try and get off the vac radar just in case if im like, on it now. I got like way too many hours in TF2 to ever bother thinking about it. Years of like, casually playing haha

Aye, soooo don't be dumb and remember to close it when I close the other single player games mnfff

Aaaaah this is gonna be a concern at the back of my head now

Thanks for the support and insight though y'all! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I really gotta be careful with that.

Restarting usually fixes the "computer blocking vac" problem. You won't be vac banned unless you're flagged, where you can't escape as it's valve server-side

How could I tell if I'm flagged?

HOW CHANGE NAME?

it likely did that to save your account from a vac ban, since forgetting to turn off cheat engine is a common mistake

You won't. CE must be injected into the game to trigger a Vac ban.

One, kinda frustrating to wait a couple months for sure

Two, thanks yall for the input. If it's very likely I won't be banned then I'm trusting the community here.

Ah, what a scare man.

As long as you don't attach Cheat Engine to TF2, you'll be fine.

It's a common bug. Restarting the pc or allowing steam and tf2 past any anti virus or firewalls usually fixes it. You'll most likely not be banned, just don't do it again.
