Can I advertise a gambling site on my profile?
So a guy added me and asked me to advertise his website that is a gambling site for tf2 items. Not in my nickname but my profile. The site seems kinda legit, the user has no negative ratings on steamrep and has 20 levels on steam. So I don't know if it counts as scamming if I advertise a fake scammer site. It is not a phishing one cuz it's not asking for any data, it hase the safe tag in it's link and it simply looks like a real gambling site. Is there any possibility that I will be banned for linking it on my profile? If it turns out that it's not legit? I personally don't gamble and don't like the idea of gambling, but the person is willing to give me rewards for just putting the ad in my profile. Is this a way to push me into a trap and then report me for being a scammer? Or am i just really pessimistic?

Advertising is technically banned, but as long as you don't advertise outside of your profile and/or groups it should be fine. Gambling sites may be an exception to that, pretty sure that Valve doesn't approve of them.
Don't expect any items though, you're not making a trade where the system is designed to be safe or signing an employment contract. 99% chance it's a scam.

Don't for the love of God, I got caught out by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like that recently, lost $300 worth of TF2 items. I thought that I had seen them all, but clearly not

well the "login" to the site part is actually legit on his site. you dont have to write anything, its the regular notification that pops up on scrap.tf and bp.tf, so dont think its phishing. still wont do it
