Team Fortress 2
Can Heavy shoot through walls?
Everytime I escape from a Heavy I run around a corner and think: " Ok i'm safe here. He won't hit me." But then suddenly he kills me despite sitting around a corner

It's mostly just how latency works , heavy's primary weapons are pretty notorious for being able to kill someone who's got 0.1 mm of their body not hidden completely by anything

That's just hitscan (bullet) lag compensation. Laggy players are behind non laggy players in game time so you aren't around the corner yet on their screen. Any weapon that shoots bullets can do this

Wasn’t always this bad. In fact I was completely baffled after noticing the lag compensation is now far more “generous” than I’m comfortable with. I rocket jump, and still someone 25 ft below me gets a backstab on me from down there? I refuse.

If a heavy gets random crits while looking in my cardinal direction whether from any distance away, that’ll kill me regardless of dodging within 0.5-1.5s unless I get behind a wall before he even sees me.

lag compensation is bugged I hope, as this needs to be fixed.

there is no wall bang in tf2 unlike csgo.the only way he ouldve know is if your ping is bad or saw your smoke as spy

Yep it’s just latency.

Because on the heavies screen the user he’s firing at still shows on his own.

It’s also why you can backstab a soldier and they rocket jump after shooting their corpse 40 feet in the air
