Team Fortress 2
Which Source SDK do I download?
I want to get into mapmaking so I searched the internet and the Valve Development Community website is telling me to download the Source SDK 2013 and other stuff. I'm really confused because there are like 10 SDKs out there and I don't know which one I'm supposed to download. There's Source SDK 2006, Source SDK 2007, Source SDK (without any year numbers), Source SDK 2013 Singleplayer, Source SDK 2013 Multiplayer, etc, etc. Can someone help out with this?

Go to Team fortress 2/bin folder and search hammer.
Which one's the best for mapmaking? I literally have no clue on how to make anything in "source sdk"
I already downloaded Source SDK (without any year listed, just source sdk), is that fine?

Isn't hammer the same thing as Source SDK?

Yes
Also, another question, can my computer run Hammer/Source SDK?
(Nvidia GeForce GT 730, Intel i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual, 8GB ram)

Okay, so hammer works, I think. What is SourceSDK supposed to do?

My computer can run it, so yours too.
It doesn't require much. Also if you need help I can surely tell some tricks.

Wiki tells it a bit detaily. Watch UAEKCrash tutorials. They are gold.

We're in the process of changing how the authoring tools are distributed for the following games:

Team Fortress 2
Counter-Strike: Source
Day of Defeat: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch

Previously these tools were distributed together in a single package (the "Source SDK" application), which resided in a totally different folder from the games. We're moving towards a model more similar to L4D and CS:GO. The SDK tools are currently shipped with the game by default, so all you need to do to get the tools is launch the game to sync it to the latest build. Please note that the tools are only available for Windows.

Now look in the bin folder. (E.g: [steam]/steamapps/common/Team Fortress 2/bin) You should see several new batch files in the bin folder, which can be used to setup the proper environment and launch the tools:

hammer.bat
faceposer.bat
hlmv.bat
stdudiomdl.bat
vtex.bat

Use these batch files to launch the tools. The SDK launcher is no longer used.

If you have issues getting these to launch, make sure you don't have an environment variable named VProject set. If you do, the tools will use this instead of detecting the correct environment variable. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SDK_Installation

TF2 comes with the tools you need aka the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SDK itself.

Just navigate to your tf2 install location/bin and click on hammer.exe

Bam, problem solved.
