Toxicity varies from player to player. Saying anyone with an mmr rank over 150 is “toxic “ simply isn’t true. I’ve played with tons of players, good and bad, and I’ve noticed no correlation between mmr rank and relative toxicity (i.e. spamming, taunting, general rudeness)

Well its not a specific mmr that makes people toxic. Its just people who take the game seriously are usually toxic. Ive been that guy many times.

Besides if people who arent toxic and good go up against a toxic person theyre more likely to just leave and not go up in rank.

This puts all the toxic people against each other and just makes this casual game a crapshow.




Im simply making an observation from my point of view. When I play with my friends who just got the game or watch videos of new players they always have nice teammates.

My matches are never like that.

(Then again you’re playing 2fort, so toxicity is basically commonplace) also the “my rank is higher than you so you don’t understand” argument doesn’t work here. I regularly play with rank 120+ players. Maybe it’s just a problem of toxic maymaylords gathering around 2fort, but maybe try playing more serious gamemodes, where people generally care about objectives.

You mean badge level? Im pretty sure badge level doesnt do anything. Though Im badge level 133 so take from that what you will.

Edit: Also it isnt just 2fort. Its all the maps. Theres always at least 1 guy being toxic. I picked 2fort because its a meme map that I think of as casual and silly.

I dont want to play the game seriously anymore. I just want to have fun. Im tired of the toxicity and garbage from people.


I used to get people adding me like every other day being nice but now people try to kick me for being friendly or saying anything in chat at all.

i'm pretty sure that i've accumulated at least some skill to call myself "decent" at the game considering the fact that i have nearly 3000 hours in the game, and there's nothing i hate more than not taking the game seriously in casual

also i highly doubt the csgo thing is a meme considering the fact that i sat through 2 rounds of swearing just so they'd result to kicking me even if i was at worst middlescoring

i highly doubt resetting your mmr will change anything about your general experience in tf2 casual, but even if it did there's really no way to reset it unless you create a new account or (maybe) lose a couple of rounds, both of which are a huge waste of time. alternatively, if you find the toxicity to be annoying enough, you can disable chat and voice with hud_saytext_time 0 and voice_enable 0 console commands respectively

Well I flipflopped recently. I used to be sorta competitive with this game but Ive learned to just relax and take it casually.

Now I regret being so competitive with how I played and now my experience suffers because I cant just run around smacking people with a sign without being targeted by an Original soldier/ australium demospam and their pocket medic on meme maps.


Edit: Using those commands defeats the purpose of playing the game for me.

The point is to play the game and have fun with people as a team. Cant really do that If I cant communicate.

If you want to be friendly, find a community server, like Jumpacademy Hightower, or Skial 2fort. Taking the game casually doesn’t mean you need to play the casual MM.

Glicko only works when there's enough players queing for the same map. I've noticed improved games during peak hours. Off hours it'll pair you with whatever else is queing so you aren't stuck having Comp tier wait times. This is especially notiable when you have 3-4 minute que timers while having 1-2 maps active.
