is it possible for a stalemate/sudden death to occur?

ive been poking around tf2s files with GCFscape, and ive found sound files where the announcer says "you lose! stalemate" and one where she says "you lose! prepare for sudden death?" can stalemate and sudden death to occur in-game?

Stalemate is just an unused alternate voiceline.

I think sudden death occurred on certain gamemodes like the discontinued Arena gamemode.

Stalemate can still happen on 5CP. Sudden Death would occur after a stalemate if enabled (Valve servers have it turned off).
