Game keeps alt tabbing itself / minimizing

I initially thought background applications were stealing focus, but that does not seem to be the case. I've run some software that detects focus, and the focus does not change, it is just minimizing the desktop. The game randomly minimizes to desktop every 2-3 minutes. Even if I am sitting there AFK in the game, pressing nothing, it still happens. TF2 is the only game that does this. I run various other games in fullscreen but it is only TF2 that has this issue. I've tried uninstalling, verifying integrity, but to no avail. TF2 is basically unplayable now, anybody else have this issue?

Solution:

Yeah, I had this problem. There's an easy fix. Go to Properties, Launch options, and type in:
-windowed -noborder

Actually theres an easier solution that worked for me. If your game keeps tabbing/minimizing then all you need to do is put it in windowed and then back to fullscreen. I hope this helps seeings as it worked for me.

i tried this and it dident work for me any other ideas?

THe way I fixed it was to remove hl2.exe from the "not disturb mode" list of games that avast registered

That's a pretty interesting solution. I use Avast! as well. :thinking:
