And yes, valve and nintendo have never interarcted with each other. But smash bros is a fighting game of all the biggest faces in gaming, and regardless of what you think of tf2 now, you can't deny what it once was, the legacy it left behind. Plus it would draw attention to this old game, so i'd be all for it
(but i'd still be pissed if a tf2 character makes it in but not waluigi, hyped, but still pissed)
Normal attack - Axe/Punch
Up attack - Thermal thruster
Down attack - Rainblower tauntkill
Left/right attack - Flamethrower or Dragons Fury
Final Smash - Phlog engulfing side of the map pyro is facing in flames.
Standard B: Default minigun
Side B: Sniper shooting to the side the Heavy is facing
Up B: He gets blasted up with Demoman's sticky bombs
Down B: Pyro shoots flames around the Heavy in a circle
Air side B: Scout rushes in swinging a baseball bat
Final Smash: He calls to the other mercenaries and they all fire their guns in the direction the Heavy is facing, similar to Poemon Trainer's Triple Finish.
I honestly think Heavy Weapons Guy fits the bill perfectly.
His standard melee punches as a two-hit jab combo.
His critical-hit uppercut as his Up+smash
You have his minigun as his Neutral B and the bullets slightly arc like in Gang Garrison.
The grappling hook as his Up+B.
A shotgun blast as his Side+B or even side smash.
He could have inkling-styled palette swaps where each color has a uniquely different outfit.
And have the Administrator replace the standard announcer on whatever map/stage that goes with the Heavy.
There's so much to work with here to make him as faithful to his original game as possible and still adhere to the game's character balancing. May even be the first third-party character to originate from a USA-based company.
Paladins has crossplay between multiple consoles/platforms including Steam and Nintendo Switch meaning it's actually possible for a Switch player to encounter a Steam player's Barik in an Engineer skin (complete with unique voice-acting by Grant Goodeve). Technically TF2 does actually have a presence on a Nintendo system, just in a way you wouldn't really expect.

with joker he had person q2 on the 3ds, terry bogard was in a few different fighters for nintendo sysrems including the neo geo game on switch, and i don't think i need to explain what banjo and kazoee are from
(although imagine if they added one selectable character that you could swap between several of the mercs on. That'd be fun.)
