Stuck in Spectactor

I know this thread has been made since the dawn of time, but I haven't been able to play TF2 for weeks and had to resort to Overwatch.

Using "retry" in the command prompt won't work.
The problem is with Valve servers, so I can't use "jointeam blu/red"

Does anybody have a solution?

You should be automatically put onto a team.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm automatically put into a team and can pick a class. After I pick a class though, I'm put into spectator mode and can't leave it or change spectating targets.

I just tried that, didn't work.

if you get stuck looking at the map spectator at the beginning of a match and hit the comma "," button, it may sometimes put you on class selection screen.


however this does not always work.



also, if you just wait until the map cycles, it may give you an opprotunity to pick a class the next time a match starts.

Well, at least the thread isn't from 2016.

I just tested it, the same exact problem will occur on non-official servers.

Try restoring your cfg folder.

my suggestion is deleting tf2 and then go into steamapps and delete the folder again because there are always some leftovers and try reinstalling the game
