Team Fortress 2
Strange vs Strange Stat Clock
What's the difference between a strange weapon and a weapon with a strange stat clock attached?

I have several strange items and I was looking to get a strange war-paint when I noticed that the war-paints and painted weapons aren't strange, but instead have "strange stat clocks" attached.

The stat clock appears as a sort of badge on the side of the weapon, which is kind of odd. Why the change? Is there any functional difference?

Strange weapons are regular weapons that have the Strange modifier; meaning they track kills/points/assists/ubers/whatever, and you can also attach Strange parts to them to keep track of extra stats. Stat clocks were introduced when skins were to give you the option to have a skin but have a kill track on your weapon also. As far as I know, you can't use Strange parts on a stat clock.

But non-cavilian grade war paints can come with strange stat clocks, look in the market

You can get non-civilian grade strange clocks, but you have to trade up 10 civilian grades with stat clocks for a chance to get one, and same goes for the next category up. Also, you have no control over which skin you'll get in a higher grade stat clock.
Stat clock let's you look at your kills by inspecting your gun, they show up on a ghetto rigged kill counter that has the words "stat clock" taped on to it badly by a price gun, that's pretty much it.
Well my intention was to festivize the weapon. In the opinion of those reading, whould you rather have a reagular strange festivized weapon, or a festivized war-painted weapon with a strange stat clock attached?

Why do you care about the opinion of other people when it comes to something that you'll be using yourself exclusively and 99.99% of the people you'll run into in pubs won't care about or even notice?
My question still stands for anyone interested in answering.

I personally prefer stock, unfestivized to anything else. Call me a purist, I like to keep things simple.

My question still stands for you.

I occasionally like to splurge on a TF2 item, it makes me happy. But, I'm not a rich man. And when I use the festivizer I can't get it back. I just want to be sure of myself. And if this isn't the place to ask this sort of question, I don't know where is :silly:.

It's not that it's the wrong place to ask the question, it's that the question itself isn't really one that should be asked. I don't go out asking strangers on the internet if they prefer pizza or burgers before I go out to eat; I make my own opinions, and so should you. As I said, most people give absolutely zero ♥♥♥♥♥ what skin/festivizer/whatever you have going on, and you'll probably be the person that cares the most, therefore, there is absolutely no reason for you to solicit that information from people.

Noted. Still asking.

Just saying no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ about your choices, just make up your own mind. If you like how it looks on whatever skin then apply the festivizer, if not then don't. Simple as that
Alright it's okay if you don't want to answer but please don't post just to say you're not going to provide an opinion.
