Why paint is so expensive?

Recently I was trying to make a sailor cosmetic load-out, and for that the best fitting hat was Bill’s hat, I got it, then to make it look like a sailor I wanted to paint it to white, and seems like white paint ( forgot it’s name ) is 2.55 on Backpack.tf! Now why is an 1-time consumable item has a high price?

( also if there are any close colors to white in the game that is cheaper, telling their name will be appreciated )

where as drab olive makes you look like a f2p who just opened his first gift at smissmass

Cosmetics make you look experienced, paint that isnt either team coloured or thematically fits is just an edgy attention grab that happens to be on the thing that gives you an experienced look.

I'm going too go on a rant here and say that whenever I am shredding the enemy there is always a F2P plhog on MMmmMm who shreads me in 2 sec. And if not that it's something dumb
