it that processor any good i'm having issues playing games from 8 years ago let alone new games by issues i mean fps drops

It's pretty dated. It'll probably run tf2 but you won't get a great frame rate since the game is heavily CPU dependent.

Intel recently released the i3 8k CPU which is only a little under the previous gen i5-7600k in terms of performance, and the CPU is only like $150 or so. You'll have to buy a new motherboard and RAM to upgrade, though.

In that case, try an FPS config and put -dxlevel 81 and +mat_phong 0 into your launch options. -dxlevel 81 won't make it look pretty, but it should help with the frame rate.

It still doesn't fix the fact I can't play games like fallout nv at anymore than 15 fps though

I am running i7-7700K and GeForce GTX 970 get 205 fps, look on my profile I have SPECS & GAME SETTINGS and my config.

2639 frames 12.834 seconds 205.62 fps ( 4.86 ms/f) 13.412 fps variability

i'd say at least the 4th generation of the i5 would be a good budget option if you're tight on it, if you're looking for something better get the 6th gen or a ryzen 5
