Huntsman Nerf
I don't know how to get this to the TF team, but they need to nerf the hitbox for the huntsman, and here's why:
Before I start, I want everyone to know that I main huntsman sniper. That being said, the hitbox for the huntsman is the worst part about the weapon. I don't know who's idea it was to make it a gigantic square, but they are awful game designers.
See, the big problem with the huntsman is that, because of shoulders in TF2, you have to aim WAY above people's heads in order to get the arrow to go past their shoulders, because if any part of the massive hitbox touches a part of their body before it touches their head, that is where the arrow registers as being aimed. This means that at long range shots, you don't have to aim THAT high (though it's enough to throw you off if you know the arc of the huntsman), but in close range, where the huntsman is supposed to excel, you have to aim anywhere from a fourth to nearly TWICE as high as the person's head is from the ground, based on the distance from you to your target. That's RIDICULOUS.

In conclusion, if the TF team nerfed the size of the huntsman's hitbox, not only would the weapon become viable in competitive, but people wouldn't be able to complain about it nearly as much, and the skill ceiling for the sniper class as a whole would rise much higher than it even currently is.
All it takes is a simple hitbox nerf that would make everyone happy.

That's why the Huntsman is based on karma, the more good karma you have the more headshots you get. Don't forget it's dubbed the Lucksman.

Right, I understand that, and I WISH it wasn't. I use the huntsman because I love bows, not because I love hitboxes. If they were to nerf the hitbox, it would actually be a buff.

Lol did you read the post? If you think I'm joking I'm not.

Huntsman has big hitbox because it's a projectile weapon.

Nerfing the hitbox won't make it more viable, it would make it less viable. You would need to counter-balance the nerf with a buff, like an increased projectile speed.

You're saying that making it more difficult to hit would make it stronger? I don't have problems with a hitbox fix like that, but I'm having a hard time seeing how that's a buff.

True, they could buff the speed, but if they fixed the hitbox it would at least be allowed in competitive

It's because it would give it a higher skill ceiling. Even though it would be HARDER to hit headshots, if you got good enough you would be able to hit them more often.

It is allowed in all competitive formats at this point in time, people just don't use it outside of throwing and BM because the sniper rifle is better.

A perfect aimbot is going to hit more shots with a larger hitbox than a smaller one. It's a nerf, alright.

No, that's not true because again, people have weird poses in this game. The heavy has large shoulders and his chest puffs out along with one of his arms. The soldier and scout hunch over intensely, throwing their shoulders up in front of their heads, etc etc. In fact, a perfect aimbot would NEVER hit because it WOULD aim for the head, and any skilled hunstman player knows you have to aim for the sky to hit your headshots.

And you're right. It was banned once, but I didn't realize it got updated.

Wuh
how is a smaller hitbox a buff?
all of you are retarded. the huntsman isn't based on karma, or luck. it's a projectile " sniper ". the headshot hitbox is the exact same as the default sniper rifle. nerfing it's hit box would be dumb because it wouldn't be consistent with the default rifle. if you aim at the head then you get a headshot. literally that simple. i thought you would know since you are a huntsman "main ". the drop on the huntsman is not even that bad when you fully charge. no map in tf2 is so big that even at full charge you have to worry about drop lmao. and it's designed so that if you hit a shoulder or the arm of someone you don't get a headshot. that would be RIDICULOUS. that would make the weapon over powered if it worked like that. you want a headshot? aim at the head. not the shoulders. and i have no idea what you are talking about when you say the whole " aim WAY above them for a headshot " because that not even true if you have ever used the damn thing.
