New spy weapon ideas
These are just for fun, and I think they would make for an interesting change in gameplay. All of these names are pretty bad.

The Red tape recorder
Before making new things, shouldn’t we fix the old ones?

Uppon sapping a building, the sentry will apear fully functional to the enemy team (apart from the fact that the projectiles aren’t damaging anyone)
-sapping speed

Instead of degrading buildings, I think we could have a sapper that feels more like a hidden spy. Along with spy checking you will also have to keep an eye on your sentry gun to make sure it isn’t being sectretly sapped


The butterknife
Looks like a standard peice of cutlery. With a lot of blood on it

Breaks upon not critical hit
4 sec recharge or ammo pickup to replenish
Instant weapon switch speed
+50% swing speed

I think this would be a very usefull weapon to spies who can reliably pull off a stab, and if you miss a stab the instant switch speed will help you get a quick revolver shot off afterwards.


The stun gun
It’s a taser.

After being critically hit, tge target will not be able to hear any noises made by spies
Firing this weapon does not reveal the spy. This weapon can be fired while cloaked, but this reveals the spy for 0.5 sec.
Only one ammo capacity.
Very short range
-200% reload speed
-50% damage
0 damage to buildings
Crits from behined
No audio or visual cues are given when you are hit with this weapon

An alternative to the revolver thatgives up long range damage in order to help the spy be able to decloak safely and perform a backstab on an enemy without them hearing them coming.

The depleter
Running low on ammo? Why not steal from someone else?

-20% sap speed
Depletes amunition from a sentry when attached. Depleted ammo is given to the spy or dropped near him (if not under a disguise or cloaked)
Sapper is removed by overloading the ammo, and restocking the sentry faster than the ammo is removed. On other buildings the sapper does nothing and is removed normally. (But is still slower)

This helps the spy be a little more supportive by providing the team with ammo.


The trap-sap
It’s a sap!

When thrown, it has a 3 sec replenish time. This cannot be helped with ammo.
If an enemy walks across the sapper whilst it is thrown they are electrocuted. Only mele weapons for 3 sec and health lost over time.
When the thrower walks over the sapper it is picked back up
When thrown, all nearby buildings beginnto sap. They are not disabled for this period of time. The sapper can be removed by hitting the sapper with any weapon
-20% sap speed. Disguise is lost upon throw. The sapper will stay where it is untill it is removed or another one is thrown.

This will help stop turtling in the intel room and also will alow the sapper to be usefull in lots of other situations.

The enforcer
It is broken, can i get a refund?

Mini crits when fired from a close range
-15% damage
Mini crits when it would normaly crit
Shooting a player while under a disguise will cause that player to be marked for death
-25% weapon switch speed
-15% reload speed

Change it up a bit.


The jekyll and hide.

Has two modes. Offensive and defensive. When health is above 50%, offensive mode is activated.
+20% speed boost while under cloack
-50% decloak time
Cloak meter is replenished only by kills, completed saps or ammo packs.
Cloak can only be used when meter is above 50%
Defensive mode is activated when under 50% health
Negative effects such as jarate or fire are not shown when cloaked.
-50% cloack time.
Loud decloak.
Cloak is automatically activated when taking damage and when the meter is above 50%.
Cloak cannot be manually activated.

A split personality. One second A blood lust, the next a sneaky sleuth. I think this fits quite well with the jekyll and hyde story.


The vampiric knife
-10 health upon miss
-50% damage.
Upon backstab: 50% of the target’s full health goes to you. (No overheal) and 20% of the target’s full health goes to nearby teammates. (No overheal)



These were my ideas. If you want to suggest your own i would love to hear them! Also please do not say “this one is bad and here’s why” but also suggest your solotion. And remember, these were all for fun and games. (Oh and please excuse spelling mistakes. This is late at night and i am writing on a phone)

Sappers only work because the Engineer can still break them off his Sentry so that it returns to normal, whereas your Red-Tape suggestion makes his Sentry useless and fixing it is completely out of the Engineer's control.

Your Butterknife is a direct upgrade for all intents and purposes, and that's not good

Your Stun Gun seems very situational, there's not really any point in only making Spies silent, and becomes exponentially more difficult to use as more enemies show up

Spies really shouldn't be running out of ammo... Dispensers exist, ammo boxes drop when people are killed, ammo boxes exist all around the map...

A thrown Sapper eliminates all risks of approaching buildings, and is never a good idea

If you're in close-range to get mini-crits with the Enforcer, you can easily walk up and just stab people, so your suggestion is redundant at best, and that's not even considering the arbitrary downsides that you're adding (which would just kill the weapon useage outright)

Jekyll and Hyde just sounds like a complicated Dead Ringer, not really liking the idea

And as for the Vampiric Knife, it's just a worse Kunai because of the miss penalty, and the fact that no teammates will be close enough to benefit from your team-healing suggestion.
