People who think hitscan is harder than projectiles should legit uninstall the game
You can literally just point your cursor at the player and click to do damage; no possible counterplay from opposing player, no need for prediction or anything more skilfull

And of course there will be Pub baddies who whine "Lul splash damage is op"

Yeah obviously it is a reliable way to kill people with 40 damage splash from range vs anyone with over 125 HP, not to mention that one class with such HP can easily dodge projectiles, especially splash ones.

Seriously how come people not understand how easy scout and hitscan is???

Well, there are some situations where one is more difficult than another. When you're using projectiles, you have to predict where the opponent will be, not where they are. And for hitscan, while it doesn't require prediction, you still have to have perfect or near-perfect aim to do maximum damage. It's not just point and they're dead. You have to actually aim. Yes, explosion radius does exist, but it suffers a severe damage falloff if you don't hit your opponent dead on. Plus, projectiles can be dodged, deleted, and reflected, and bullets can become useless with the help of an overcharge. Plus, it's very rare that I see someone who's a god with rockets and pipes be any good at sniper, and vice-versa. For instance, I'm pretty good with projectiles, especially ones with falloff properties. The CC is a godsend for me. BUUUUT! I can't play any of the hitscan classes well. Engineer is kinda okay, but I usually go battle engineer with the Frontier Justice. However, I can get some pretty good pipe shots as the Demoman, and I'm pretty good at the Stun N' Gun combo as pyro (At least, against bots. I haven't tested it out in casual yet.) and I can hit rockets pretty consistently as soldier. So yeah. Both require at least some skill. Don't shame people for using either of them. If valve didn't want them in the game, they wouldn't have added them in the first place, and it would just be another cod, csgo or battlefield clone. And if they didn't have hitscan, it would just be a clusterf*ck of projectiles.

To truly have peace in this community, you must try to understand and respect eachother.

It's quite obvious that he doesn't know what he's talking about. Either that, or he confused projectiles with hitscan and is mixing them up.

You can dodge hitscan, but you can't dodge projectiles.

if you have particularly generous interp settings then the lag compensation can sometimes allow you to hit really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shots like hitting players around corners or having headshots register even when you werent even aiming at the head on your end

yeah you just have to hit the lag switch plugged into your xbox and their bullets won't reg because you're host

or just realize that I forgot sniper is hitscan for most of his primaries. I was thinking of like a laser hitscan that deals dmg over time. You could dodge that.

I do not know that splash damage is a pain. More or less when it comes to soldiers rockets and demos sticky spam.

Then we do got some powerful hitscan classes to such as scout and sniper.

Then we got weaker hitscan classes that relay on others such as Heavy, Engineer.

I have an easier time hitting rockets than hitscan because with hitscan you have to be more precise. Rockets, pipes, and stickies are easier to hit for me because you don’t have to be specific where you shoot as long as it hits something. If you predict correctly (which is easy) the enemy won’t have much time to react and dodge in time.

There's a good reason why aimbotters use sniper and heavies most of the time
