Why Are Mini Sentries On Hightower So Effective?
I've been playing Gunslinger Engie on Hightower recently, and I do not know any other map that my kills have been so much higher than my deaths when playing Gunslinger Engie. Is it just luck, map design, or what?

It's because lots of jumper soldiers and scouts play Hightower. They don't know how to play anything else and are generally bad so they keep dying to minis despite them being trash.

Bad players flock to bad maps.

Middle middle middle, you're kicked for using a 100 hp sentry with less DPS then an SMG.

It's got lots of verticality and it's full of Soldiers and scouts.

I only place minis next to my teams sniper spot so they cam sniper dual in peace without feer of try hard scouts and pyros. But to be honest minis are no REAL threat just annoying at times.

They're a minor nucience at best, especially on such an open map.

And yet people treat you like your satin himself for using them. It takes 1 rocket or pill to kill and it Has 25% less Damage then level 1. And lower health

Mini sentries have massive range for a cheap alternative, so when a cramped map like Hightower gets thrown in, theirs no escape.

And that's exactly why they've been nerfed to the point where using a Jag is superior in almost every way and nearly every situation.

Actually there is if someone uses stock rocket launcher and they just destroy the mini with one shot, then you'd rush someone else to quickly build another one but the soldier comes after you and kills you.

I still use Minis for Attack Engineer, they are still better for that at least to me. Then again I've only used the Jag once or twice. I may find it to be a better option.

The reason a mini sentry is so effective is because there are so many market gardeners. A sentry can't take critical hit damage so a soldier with no guns and no crits and with so many of them, mini sentries are bound to be getting kills.

Trolldiers are defenseless with the rocket jumper. Switching a rocket launcher that damages things just to get rid of a killing machine temporarily hurts the experience. And also, the mini sentry dps is constant, and locks on to you. For the people who say it is super weak are only partially right. They keep forgetting that other higher forms of dps need to be aimed. Just because a weapon has a high dps doesn't mean that it is better than the mini sentry. Remember, RANGE AND AIM are factors too.

To put it in simple terms: Hightower is used as the training ground for Soldier rocket jumping. Most players go there to practice (even though it's actually a ♥♥♥♥ map for Rocket Jump training); and mostly just trolldier around. As such; breaking out a mini will ruin their experience; as they won't be able to rocket jump effectively; and since 99% of Trolldiers wield the Rocket Jumper instead of the vastly superior Liberty Launcher; they can't do ♥♥♥♥ to a mini; other then jump on it and whack it with the Meme Spoon that is the market gardener until it blows up. Which will probably cost them a lot of health and frustrate them.

Generally; if you do this; excpect them to go full on tryhard and specifically chase after you trying to kill you because "Anyone who builds minis on hightower is a fun hating mutant with no friends."

Minis also effectively hurt Scouts and Pyros on Hightower; which can benefit from the space to move around; with a mini in place; they can't use that freedom effectively.
