I did the memes vs machines thing but I still haven't gotten it so I was just wondering if it was even in the game yet.

I looked through the workshop and found it in accepted items. Guess I just didn't get it :/

I got it, but have no idea how. As far as I know it is in my inventory as genuine badge. Little potato with umbrella.

I think that you're suppose to reach a certain amount of play time in it (like 1-2 hours of in-wave time), not just participate for like 5 minutes then leave.
