Team Fortress 2

Is Team Fortress 2 set in the same universe of Half-Life and Portal?
It might sounds crazy, but I've been thinking about it. I know we're talking about two differents worlds, the one being belligerent and comedic, while the other two more sci-fi and dyspotical, but I can't help to have this sensation. The only clue I have is the age; the Lamba incident happened around the year 2000, when Gordon Freeman was 27 years old; which means he's born in 1972 probably, the same year when Team Fortress 2 is set. Also, we still have no info about the last comic; do you think they are taking time because they are trying to figure out how to make relate these two franchise?

I have nothing better to do so here i am. The answer is most likely NO. The senate investigation on Poopy Joe’s death and the senate investigation on missing astronauts of Aperture Science happened in the same year (1968), which would be very inconsistent if the other 2 were also thrown into the mix because TF Industries is the only company involved (besides Mann Co) in Poopy Joe’s death. Not to mention the fact that the well known non communist human astronauts in the TF universe are chair stackers.

But it’s still possible to bridge Portal and Half Life into the TF universe. By making Miss Pauling immortal (they already did it in “The naked and the dead), expanding the Gravel war from several lands to several universes. TF can be a part of the Portal/Half Life universe as the Combine Empire.

How about the Sab-Ap?
The description says that Mann Co. Bought them from a nice lady who lives in an abandoned scientific research structure.

Definitely not. It's like saying GTA and Max Payne are in the same universe.

But they used it all in the last comic.

And to answer op's question, maybe. The Ap-sap and aliens exist so it's possible.

That item is most likely non canon. However, it’s still possible for Aperture Science to exist in the TF universe. But not as developed due to the lack of moon stones. Also, robots are invented in the 1900 by Mann Co (revealed in Classless Update). So “maybe”.

Update: The 2 robots in Portal that i haven’t learn their name looks kinda similar to the first robot ever that was invented by Mann Co (mainly the spherical torso, small limbs and one eye detail).

Update: the mann co one actually have 2 eyes.

Aperture laboratories was founded and began operation in the 1940's. Decades before the shortage of australium.

So because the year 1972 exists in both game universes, they're the same universe?

This is truly big brain time.
