Can I use TF2 voice clips in Youtube videos without issue?
Just wondering if it is safe to use the voices from the TF2 characters in a youtube vidoe without the video getting copyright claimed. An example of what I want to do is like if I find a treasure chest in a game and it has a better weapon in it i want to use the heavy voice line "New Weapon!". just not sure if that will cause trouble

just trying to be 100% sure. really don't wanna try to start actually putting work into my videos and have it slap me in the face.

Didn't quite beleive this when i first read it because of the fact youtube generally gives you a three strike and your out system.

Nah they're really touchy about tf2 voicelines. I wouldn't risk it if I were yiut

Pretty sure copyright infringement mostly applies to music and certain shows/movies and certain video games (Nintendo comes to mind). I've never seen voice clips ever being an issue.

And besides you seen tf2bers and tf2 gmod before and their vids weren't striked so go on by all means.

Then explain how there are dozens of videos showcasing the characters voices, gameplay footage or gmod related content using the voicelines and weren't punished for it (this also includes other valve games)? Unless you have evidence that someone was striked for it i have a hard time buying that.

You're in the clear, if i didn't get a copyright strike for a few clips on my channel then neither should you.

Just for evidence to clarify what Nathan said i quickly open OBS and recorded Nathan responding to my message. probably wont help too much but it might help later.
You're being overly paranoid about it right now. Chill out, you're just borrowing a voice line not waving it around as if you own it.
