Liberty launcher: more mobility, more jumps in a row, easyer to use than the direct hit.
Direct hit: awesome launcher, but you need to play more scout to learn how to land this weapon shots.
Original: people say is just a reskin but becouse of the different way the launcher shoots, it can be fun to play and sometimes change the gameplay.
Cow mangler: useful weapon, not only for the charge, but becouse of it's infinite ammo, you never need to worry about how much ammo you use or waste. Watch out for sentryes.
Air strike: really fun to use, best with the gunboats, is a weapon made to get on points and annichilate everyone is standing on it, it can also be used even on ground and not only airborn. Watch out for your ammo.
*(Pls just use it in mvm)
Also keep in mind with any of the other rocket launchers depending on what side your view model is on it will shoot from that side.
So if you are set to left handed the rockets will shoot more to the left. While if you are set to right handed they come out more to the right. Can be helpful on some maps to gain a defense or offense advantage.
Definitely Stock/Original, as these'll cover your bases for whatever playstyle you may want for your soldier, and there's no scenario I can think of where the stock launcher would perform very poorly in.
My close second would be the Cow Mangler, as it's pretty much just an infinite ammo stock, but with no random crits and no damage against sentries. If engineers aren't a problem then it's very useful for a roamer since the infinite ammo allows you to be more active without ever having to worry about ammo.
Comp:Cow Mangler
It's actually very good for roaming without a medic
