This game is terrible to new players
It introduces you to the game by putting you against whoever it can find regardless of how long they've been playing.
It then gets you instant killed by spies every half second even if you're at full health, then says you're getting dominated by those players.
Maybe telling new players that they're getting dominated by long-time players isn't the best way to introduce them to your game.
Next second you're in a lobby full of obvious cheating snipers.
Can't wait until the Steam sale is over and I don't have to play this ♥♥♥♥ game anymore.
Even Overwatch is better than this ♥♥♥♥-show of a game. At least Sombra doesn't appear behind you and one shot you at full HP.

the short version of this post is:
im ♥♥♥♥ at the game and im sad now
Your tears are delicious...
:rcry:

[initiates rainblower taunt]
TASTE THE RAINBOW...

Actually it may be helpful to try the tutorial, followed by requesting a coach(both are available from the main menu). I keep hearing how broken it is but it worked for me back in the day.
The issue is quickly identifying your situation and your way out of it, by knowing the capabilities of each class and their weapons. Study the TF2 wiki for all the nerdly details. https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Main_Page
Watch some pro-level players of each class, you'll soon learn their capabilities, but more importantly you'll hopefully learn (or be lucky enough to invent) the best counterattack(s) to each situation.

Good luck, happy hunting, and have fun!

Most TF2 players are bad though. You should be able to do well if you had some FPS experience beforehand due to the low skill level of the average player and the fact that most classes aren't even that difficult to play.

The only notable disadvantage that actually exists would probably be that obtaining new weapons can be a slight grind and a majority of the good melee weapons aren't even achievement items.
If they're going to quit cause they got ♥♥♥♥♥♥, they weren't ever going to make it. TF2 is the kind of game where you can find yourself getting stomped even when you're good. The skill ceiling is so high that unless you're one of the best (or close to best) players on the planet, there will be someone somewhere than can beat your face in. Best get good habits early and learn to stop crying and figure it out.

I heard something called eyes and ears help you detect spies and turning around helps you counter spies

ah
you see, the answer to your dilemma is quite simple:
don't play tf2

You just posted cringe, you're going to lose subscriber
Spies are never truly 100% invisible as there is a lensing effect you can clearly see when they walk in front of you. (There are some spy gear that makes them truly invisible though, but you'll probably encounter those in higher level games)
...this game has a tutorial you know

Thank you my Jedi master for this true wisdom.

False. The game introduces you to it with a series of tutorials.

But the sale isn't making you play this game. For one thing, you could just play CSGO or any of the other participating games instead. Secondly, playing TF2, even if your very good at the game, is not the optimal way to earn points. If you have any game with achievements open for at least 30 minutes during the sale, you can claim any unlocked achievements for points. My computer froze by the time I was half way done opening everything, and I could still claim points on my laptop. Thirdly, earning points is pointless. If you spend them, you help your team and earn tokens. Helping your team is pointless. No matter what you do Corgi is going to win. The only reason Corgi hasn't won on certain days is because Valve is interfering with the race. If you want tokens, points spent doesn't matter, only max points does:

At the end of the Grand Prix on July 7, 2019 @ 10 am PDT, the Pit Stop will be open to everyone and you'll be able to spend any leftover tokens you've earned through your purchases on Steam, without having to participate in the actual Grand Prix.
To me, the above quote indicates that any unclaimed points (that is, max points - spent points) will be converted into tokens on July 7 @ 10 am PDT. You do gain one thing from participating in the race. For everyday that you participate, your max points goes up by 100. To participate you only need to spend 1 point. You can surely get at least 1 point easily and enjoyably from playing something other than TF2.

You are right about matchmaking not doing its job though.

I will agree that the "skill based" matchmaking system is less than ideal (not sure what Valve can realistically do about that, though) and that the Tutorial is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Here are some tips to help you get a leg up:

Get a config set up and update your default settings, you'd be amazed how much better this alone will make you play. Also, play MGE. It'll really help you with your aim and deathmatching skills, and it can also be an excellent place for more experienced players to give you one-on-one advice.

Lastly, play on jump maps. You won't regret it.

you're complaining about dominations in a VALVE GAME, pls wake up

me and a TON of others had no issues fitting in so your claims are also partially incorrect
