Film Reel Issue I've Seen / "People not being able to equip taunts."
I've seen some others been shot down in the past about this, and its not necessarily a common issue, but for those who buy taunts and are unable to equip them for the sole reason of them being unable to see the film reel, I've found out necessarily why the film reel is unable to be seen during loadout editing.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1855658467

As seen in this link, and being, image. There is no film reel from which to select taunts, but I actually know why this happens, I play TF2 in windowed, and when I increase the resolution it disappears for me. The solution could be in simply resolution, and not in DXlevel as most would say it as.

I've found that when I startup my tf2 game, its saved on windowed since I have -windowed personally enabled in the steam launch commands for TF2, just for performance reasons, so my windowed game always has a reset resolution I have to change before playing, not a big problem. But what i've found is, this default windowed resolution being 1280x600 and obviously in run in a window display mode. Aspect ratio being Widescreen 16:9. I CAN see the film reel when its on these specific settings, but I only noticed the film reel disappearing like in the previous image when I switch the "resolution" to be a bit higher before my game always, whenever I loadup a tf2 game I always apply the resolution setting higher after its been reset on launch to 1366x768, which is the resolution that the screenshot following is taken in. So my conclusion is that higher resolutions tend to break the two buttons that of being the default loadout selection and the taunt loadout selection, enough to move them out of selectable range perhaps.

Because of this, this may even be the "solution" i've found to a very uncommon problem some rare amount of people may not be able to fix being they cant equip purchased taunts, so perhaps you could lower the resolution instead of changing your launch commands repeatedly to different DXlevels as everyone thinks that would solve it. Doing this could let you see your film reel again.

Now i'm not sure how rare or uncommon this really is, i've only seen some uncommon posts and only assume some small amount of people have this problem as i've only seen a couple posts here and there, but I just wanted to post on it since some people never actually had this problem solved specifically when i've seen these old old posts, and I do hope it helps future problems involving this since some people have shrugged it off as people being blind or either not trying to fix their problem since the missing reel is an issue.

Thanks, I only intend for people to google search about this problem in the future, so I wanted to help out discouraged people when they buy taunts.

old threads will have a priority for being older which is how most threads get necro'd but yeah i really hope over time this pops up as one of the top results

If not i'll make a guide, and try to respond to newer posts being with the problem, since alot of people do not usually help with this problem. I've only seen people go "Its your DX setting bro" at most for help. Without having actual evidence to how it works.

if i remember i'll link the thread to anyone having the issue (though i've never seen anyone with this issue so far but still)

making a guide as well is a good idea yeah, usually people here scream if a thread has been necro'd regardless of the context so

Some threads should be necro'd such as bugs or problems, I honestly block or ignore any of the people who make a unnecessary fuss about it as I don't wanna waste all my time on people who don't even want anything to do with the post and just wanna REE lol.

Its great you bumped this old thread, its actually a resolution problem, on smaller resolutions you cant quite mess around with much of it.

Just temporarily up your resolution and put it in fullscreen (if it is in windowed or smaller than normal)

If that doesn't work put it in 1280x600 resolution (kinda small) and 16:9 ratio to check if the film reel is there. Make sure to hit apply when trying both of these methods.
