Also does the skill level of the mission affect it at all?

Depends on which campaign you are doing. if you are doing the short one a few seconds anything else a few minutes.

Mannhattan and rottenburg (two cities) take a minute at most, sometimes you can even find a game right off the bat. Lots of people playing it for the australiums and high tier fabricators

Others probably take longer

Depends on your timezone most of all.
My quene time usually takes 2 - 5 minutes.

People only play Two Cities tour. The other tours? Not much. Takes a while.

Fake news. There are so little people playing Mann Up other than the Two Cities tour that Valve matchmaking will desperately try to match you anywhere.

I can say that's accurate true, since i've been in tokyo servers and US servers.
But if you quene up 6stack with friends from europe, it's a guaranteed europe region server, or merely 3 or 2 people from the same region, its gotta be a region based on the people in the stack.

The matchmaking servers seem to seek out the server that will give the lowest combined ping of all players, meaning the majority of players will have <100 ping, but about 2 players will have terrible ping (~300+). Which sucks because when the low ping people leave the entire team is left with a bad connection

So basically for someone just starting out on Mann Up (doing the easiest missions) It's gonna take me forever to find a match? Greaaaaaat.

You're better off playing Boot Camp if queue times are an issue.
