Tf2 20 seconds respawn time
Don't u think 20 seconds is a bit long?

It's to balance certain game modes, that's why defense has longer respawn time than offense

Implying it can't be balanced without respawn times going up to 30 seconds, which I have to throw a fat <citation needed> at.

I was just stating a simple fact, if you have an issue with instant respawn play on a instant respawn community server. There's plenty out there

Certain game modes (CTF, 5CP, come to mind) It needs this respawn time in order to make the game balanced. If someone kills you who is trying to capture an objective it isn't very fair to allow you to come right back to fight them again before they can capture.

To test it out just go in any instant spawn server and see how broken these game modes are without the ability to have a moment to breath after killing the defence / offence. It makes capturing objectives near impossible without a rock solid push.

Talking about if they should be shorter is not talking about whether they should exist or not, and believing it's "no respawn" or "current settings" as the only dichotomy is laughably ignorant.

The respawns are how they are. They are already variable with times from like 7 second to 22.
So the only options are fixed times of 15, 10 ,5 or instant anyways.

I just chose instant because it works with my point. The argument carries to shorter times as well.

Either way the current system is the best. I guess an all around lowered chance of 7 to 15 max could be implemented but the longer spawn times really give good breathing room.

I understand why the respawn time goes to 20 seconds, but it still annoys me. I feel that anything over 10 seconds is too long, but of course, if the respawn times were less, being the attacking team would be infinitely harder.

it shouldn't be respawn waves and instead depend on the players score

I'd personally bring it down to like 15 seconds, 20 is a bit overkill. It's TF2, not a MOBA.
But it's not always that big a deal.
