How to get keys?

I have 3 crates man co supply crates (so, nothing fancy). Since I'm broke, I'm wondering if there is anyway to open crates without paying?

(Sorry for the noob questions. This is my first free to play mmofps game)

Keys are 30 refined now.

If I were you, buy a key with money and sell those keys to buy a hat and weapons.
Majority of the hat cost 1.33 refs and each normal weapon cost 1 scrap.

Like, you can search for tf2 crate simulator on kongregate. Give it a try and you can see what you get

Never waste a key for a crate. You can get much more with just a single key then if you tried to unbox a crate.

Don't unbox. Just buy keys and sell them for refined. Then trade refined for hats and stuff you want.

trade(scam) your way to a key, flip it for hats, repeat process until you make a few keys profit. dont unbox tho its a rip
