Unbalanced teams in casual
I can't be the only one who thinks the teams are most of the time unbalanced. Either you're on a team that wipes the floor with the other, or then your team gets steamrolled by the other.

I think after the meet your match update there have been way more of these unbalanced matches than there used to be.

the fact that you can only swith teams through an "offer" window isnt fun either

literally no one is going to do that for 150 xp.

This might be because I've noticed a lot more very new players in Casual.

It also might be because people think you're not supposed to play seriously because the name of mode is "casual"

Anyway, there's not much to do to fix this. We can only hope that upcoming update will fix Casual, and now we can just play on community servers in hope for a good matches.

Casual TF2 is basically like playing with your friends in casual sports games in the park. You're basically allowed to do whatever you want despite your friends yelling at you.

Over the past few days it seems that I'm getting very competent teams and playing against competent teams too.

Except that's wrong. Just because you're an EA doesn't mean that you can randomly decide whether or not a comparison is accurate.

It also happened on the old official servers before casual mode. Difference was that there was autobalance and votescramble and you had the chance to switch teams any time. :SYMSface2::steamsad:

Playing as intended =/= playing competitively

The point is that you haven't explained how they aren't alike at all. I can state that the Earth is at the center of the solar system, but that doesn't mean that it's true.

This. They could've chosen any other name, but no, they went with that word and the various stigmas it carries.

Thats because valve removed autobalance because a few plebs started crying when the teams switched and they lost their killstreaks.

I remember hating it since it usually threw me or my friend on separate teams, so we always had to look for a chanse to join the other team.

However, now when you can actually form a party, autobalance could work better if it would keep the party together.

I just don't see why I should have to push the objective if no one else on the server is capping either.

There are community servers made for non-serious game. Playing normally does not mean that you're playing competitively; on normal servers, you aim for objective, but you don't need to be 100% organized or serious about it. Competitive is aimed for players who eant serious game and aim for winning to get reward.
making the option for switching teams for balance voluntary was the most asinine choice they ever made (right next to the penalty and cool down from being kicked in MVM)
Pro-tip: Git Gud. Then you'll always be the one stomping the other team, or the teams are balanced because there's also a good player on their team. It's what I do.

Playing as a friendly or half-assing your attempts to complete the objective in Casual probably gives the wrong impression for the new players who inhabit it. There are a lot of new players in Casual who haven't had a proper introduction to TF2 yet, why just this morning I taught someone how to crouch-jump.

It would be nice if the friendly players would keep to their containment servers. The worst is playing an actually well-organized game of Gorge, for example, and suddenly some spycrab joins your team and expects the rest to follow suit and gets mad when they don't.

I wasn't directing that at you, more of a general statement. I've met a surprisingly fair amount of aggressive friendlies, and it's frankly annoying. People weren't this adamant about not playing the game before I took my break, but some of them have been okay and actually played when asked to. Others, well, haven't.
